Abacus Brands design and manufacture dynamic educational VR toys that inspire, engage and affirm a child’s interaction with the world. Their products are designed to layer the learning process, by combining book, tech, and tangible play to deliver fundamental concepts and core values. The purpose is to achieve not only a structured method of learning, but to also promote imaginative play, which is accomplished when activating both the left and the right side of the child’s brain.

Packaging

With a saturated market the designs needed to draw the attention of consumers when sitting on the shelf while providing eye catching information about the contents and what to expect from this toy. Each box is themed based on the contents while maintaining a general layout so that no matter which box is being viewed the consumer knows where the information is.

Book

The books contain the VR and AR elements of the kit. Each page has multiple VR or AR experiences that the downloaded mobile app can interact with. The book takes the child in to a complete VR world to experience the project with "Professor Maxwell" then to showing them clear video steps on how to complete the project themselves using the items provided in the kit. The layout of the spreads needed to show the targets for the VR and AR elements large enough to trigger the videos while not being overpowering and balanced on the page.
